TOMGHUIBHAIS (5/6 persone) Sono ammessi piccoli animali. Vanta una vasca idromassaggio e una sauna finlandese. Questa casa, progettata individualmente da un architetto, è stata costruita sul fianco di una collina per offrire una vista spettacolare sulla valle del fiume Tay fino a Ben Lawers e Schiehallion. La sua posizione lungo un viottolo campestre è appartata e silenziosa, ma il centro della pittoresca cittadina di Aberfeldy è raggiungibile a piedi attraversando una radura tra i boschi. Ideale per vacanze romantiche.

Preferita dalle coppie in luna di miele, Tomghuibhais è arredata con gusto e qualità in tessuti coordinati. L’ingresso porta ad una veranda e ad una zona giorno su due livelli, con una stufa a legna e tappeti sparsi su pavimenti di parquet. Una porta finestra si apre su un’ampia terrazza che si affaccia su un giardino a gradoni. Quattro gradini portano alla zona pranzo e alla cucina all’americana in legno di pino e piastrelle di ceramica, attrezzata di tutto il necessario e alla lavanderia e ripostiglio/WC.

Le camere da letto sono una matrimoniale con bagno/WC comunicante dotato di cabina doccia, bidet, grande vasca idromassaggio ad incasso a quattro posti e sauna finlandese. C’è una seconda camera doppia con servizio annesso, dotato di doccia/WC. Dal soggiorno una scala a chiocciola ornamentale porta ad una saletta con stufa a legna, che offre una vista panoramica della valle. Adiacente a questo locale c’è una cameretta singola. Il riscaldamento centrale è a gas, l’elettricità è a contatore e la legna per la stufa a prezzo di costo per quella utilizzata. Parcheggio privato, TV e videoregistratore (con videocassette), buona scelta di libri, stereo, telefono a gettoni, lava-asciugatrice, forno a microonde, lavastoviglie, congelatore, ferro da stiro, lettino, seggiolone, giardino con mobili, barbecue, baby-sitter su richiesta, piumoni e biancheria da letto, grandi asciugamani a disposizione; è ammesso un animale domestico tranquillo. Hotel e ristorante a 150 metri.

Vista da Tomghuibhais

Dalla soglia parte un sentiero che attraversa il bosco di betulle chiamato Birks of Aberfeldy, immortalato dal poeta Robert Burns. Il sentiero serpeggiante segue una serie di cascate e rupi coperte di vegetazione fino ad un ponte che attraversa un torrente, sotto il quale c’è un nero strapiombo di 18 metri dove continua tra correnti spumeggianti e lunghe pozze scure. Sopra queste Falls of Moness, si apre un pianoro coperto da infinite distese di erica purpurea, in cui abbondano galli cedroni, chiurli e pavoncelle: un rifugio di pace profonda per chi è estenuato da lavori di concetto o dalla vita di città.
